The 5 rules for always fresh flowers

The 5 rules to keep your bouquet beautiful and healthy for longer.

  1. In the gift box received from Casa Delle Piante you will find a special vase that does not lose water even if bent or turned upside down. Before sending you the bouquet, we poured water into it along with a powder of cut flower food. If there is still water when you receive the flowers, do not throw it out, but simply add very fresh water, making sure that the water level never submerges more than half of the stems. This way, you will have “magical” water that will allow your flowers to stay beautiful and lush for longer.

  2. After removing the flowers from their special vase, designed to maintain the freshness and integrity of the flowers during transport, cut the bottom of the stems of the flowers by about one centimeter from the bottom, preferably at an angle. This important step will allow a wider base of the stem to absorb fresh water and nutrients more effectively.

  3. Before placing the bouquet back in the vase remove any leaves that would end up submerged or weakened, as well as any imperfect outer petals, so that your beautiful and “healthy” bouquet is displayed in the vase. Depending on the season and the type of flower, we may deliberately leave some outer petals that are not very beautiful to protect the center of the flower during transport, thus ensuring maximum freshness.

  4. Then complete your perfect arrangement with the vase, the enriched water, and the flowers submerged to less than half their height, and place it away from direct heat sources such as radiators, incandescent lamps, or direct sunlight. It is also advisable to avoid exposure to strong drafts.

  5. Repeat every three or four days the process of cutting the stems (always by one centimeter) and checking the “health” of the flowers. Add water if necessary, but do not change it, because the water you have still contains the nutrients from the packet.
